1951-1952 ACHA World Ch. Incredible Rock Ads Added To Forum

We are now adding old ads to our Foundation Of The Breed Forum.

http://myforum.finleyriverchief.com

We have just added an old ad of the 1951-1952 ACHA World Champion Incredible Rock.  I haven't seen an ad or picture of him anywhere on the net.  It will be one of our goals to put up ads and pictures that you won't find anywhere else.

Sign up for our forum and visit often as we are adding new information almost every day.  Go to

http://myforum.finleyriverchief.com to sign up and to be able to view this old ads and pictures from the past of the Treeing Walker Breed.

We have also added an old stud ad of Hershberger's Spot Jr.  Most have heard of or seen a picture of Ch. Nite Ch. Stan's Sailor Boy, the beginning of the Sailor or Sailor Boy Strain.  This is another raw ad and picture that hasn't been out for the public to see.

Also added was an ad on World Show Ch. Ch. Nite Ch. Oak Ridge Mo. Buglar.  A son of Ch. Nite Ch. Nelson's Butch and the father of Dual Grand Ch. Table Rock Flying Hawk.

Also an old stud ad on Nite Ch. Finley River Chief has been added.

We have also recently added old ads on:

Grand Nite Ch. Merchant's Banjo II and 1962 ACHA World Champion Grand Nite Ch. Katie's Rowdy.

A nice ad of Grand Nite Ch. Monroe's Finley River Joe and Grand Nite Ch. Kentucky River Chief.

Dual Grand Champion Spring Creek Rock

Grand Ch. Nite Ch. Hurt's Bawling Banjo

Grand Nite Ch. Ball's Hickory Nut Harry and more.

Working With New Scanner - New Forum Added

As I mentioned in an earlier post we were getting a new scanner.  We have had it for a while but just took it out of the box and working on getting to know it and how to use it.  We have a lot of pictures and information to archive.  Over the last few months we have been gathering a lot of great information and pictures.

We are always looking for more so anyone that has pictures or stories or information they want to share please feel free to do so.  We will give you credit on anything you provide if you want the credit or keep it quite if you don't.

We have also added a forum to the website.  This forum is open to questions and discussions.  Please feel free to join it (it costs nothing) and help make this a great forum.  If there are categories we need to add please let us know.

This Website, Forum and Blog is about preserving the History of this great Treeing Walker Breed.  It is about providing a place where you can research for the history, a place you can see hard to find pictures and ads.  It is about providing a place to celebrate and enjoy the past so we can know where we are going.

On the Forum we will have pictures and ads that aren't on the website.  We have a few now and will be adding more every week.  Check them out and please take part or start discussions.

Website Update

Website Update And New Pictures To Be Added

Since our first blog entry we have done quite a bit of work on our two websites about Treeing Walker History.  There is still  a lot more that needs to be done and will be completed in time.  I would like to thank everyone who has sent us private emails about the websites.  There has been many very good comments about the sites and the information we are putting on it.

We are getting a better scanner so that the pictures we ad will be the best quality possible.  Of course some of them because of their age and where they come from will only be so good.  We have also been very busy and active in building up our Archives of History and Information.

Anyone that has pictures or stories that should be included in this site, they are welcomed here.  We will gladly note who provides such information if a person wants us to credit them.

Some of the hounds of the past pictures we will be adding shortly are:  Bixler's Supreme Sally, Nelson's Butch, White River Rowdy, Mack Twain, House's Bawlie, Incredible Rock, California Mack, and many more.

Treeing Walker Coonhound History and Pictures

Vision For Website and Blog

The vision for this blog and website is a vision brought forth by love.  A love for coon hunting and a love  for the Treeing Walker Coonhound.  Having been raised by members of the family that also loved the sport of coonhunting.   I remember when I was following the hounds before I even started school following behind my father, sometimes being carried.

I was very much involved with coon hunting, breeding and raising Treeing Walkers and taking part in hunts and shows.  Still at this time it has been 20 years since I have be involved with the sport of coonhunting or the Treeing Walker Coonhound.  Still with that  20 year time off I have been involved in the sport for over 32 years.

I would think about my beloved sport and hounds at times and realize how much I actually missed a part of my being.  So much history about this great breed that I had in my possession that over the 20 years I have lost some of it.

I have been thinking about this great sport much more lately.  Going on the web I found that there wasn't a lot of information out there about this great breed and it's history.  I found that sad because there is so much great history that people need to know and learn about.

We have started the web site http://www.finleyriverchief.com .  We decided on that name for a number of reasons.  First we wanted this site to be about Treeing Walkers.  The dog that was considered the greatest producer of all time, the one that was called "A Living Legend".  Finley River Chief is the foundation of so many great and wonderful hounds and strains today. I know some may be offended by this, BUT Finley River Chief was considered the Gold standard for reproducers.

As we put this website and blog together we welcome anyone who has pictures, stories, or parts of history they wish to share.  Just because we call this site Finley River Chief doesn't mean we don't want information from all of the other great strains that helped make the Treeing Walker breed so successful.

Please as you find this site and blog, please feel free to  post your experiences with the Treeing Walker breed.  Please don't use this site for spamming.  As it gets larger and more detailed I don't see anything wrong if you have a dog for sale you want to mention, but please have other things to share and don't turn your post into a FOR SALE post ONLY.

All coon hunters are welcomed here to travel down memory lane and also share the present and future of this breed.
